...ever have an insured provide you with an Excel summary where the data isn't quite summarized in a usable manner?  Wouldn't it be nice if there was some way you could easily summarize the data without having to do lots of manual work?  Well, there is!

Example 1 - Provides you with what I'll call a List Formula that will help you create a short, but exhaustive list of class codes (or department numbers, etc.) from a long list where those codes are unordered and repeated several times.  Then, a SUMIF Formula that will summarize the data by those codes.

Example 2 - Provides you with two versions of SUMIF Forumlas: one summarizes the data based on a cell reference (just like the SUMIF Formula in example 1), and the other sumarizes the data using fixed terms you supply.

Just copy and paste them right into your audit worksheet, or download these two sheets to your hard drive for future use.
